ECMS 6-1 Weekly Update: December 2nd, 2016 (Trackout Edition)

Happy Friday, December 2nd, 6-1 Families!

Happy trackout day and happy end of 2nd quarter! It’s hard to believe that we’ve already completed half of the school year together.  We’ve had a great time getting to know your students and we look forward to seeing them kick it up a notch during the 2nd Semester.  During 2nd Semester, part of our jobs as teachers is to get students ready for 7th grade.  Our expectations increase and the pace of the classes tends to go a little faster.  We will review expectations and procedures one more time with students when they track back in.  This semester is really about students taking more responsibility for their actions and their work ethic.

Students received their 2nd quarter report cards today.  We asked them to put them in their Homework Folders.  Please ask to see them when you see your student.  For any student who was absent today, we will give your student their report card when they return in January.

Please mark your calendars for Friday, January 20th.  We will celebrate all the 1st Semester accomplishments of the students.  Our celebration will begin at 8am in the ECMS Auditorium.  We will send home more information to students who will receive an award when we track back in.

Also, please encourage your child to continue reading daily over track-out.  Mrs. Gilliland looks forward to hearing about everyone’s reading choices when we track back in!

Lastly, no matter what you celebrate during this time of the year, we would like to wish you a safe and happy December trackout.  We look forward to seeing your students on Tuesday, January 3rd, 2017.

Warmly,

Lauren Haynie (LHAYNIE@wcpss.net)

Chad Miller (CMILLER@wcpss.net)

Mike Hayes (MHAYES@wcpss.net)

Margaret Gilliland (MGILLILAND@wcpss.net)
